The whole saga about Alexandra Wallace, the self-professed politically incorrect person who rants about the chaotic studying condition created by the ASIAN students and their families in the library… Though I think to declare oneself as politically incorrect is kinda gutsy. (Look at Tony Hayward!! He’d like his life back amidst a record-breaking oil spill crisis) There are some that are truly brainless. i.e: Alexandra’s racist vlog resulted her in quitting school.

It’s a vicious cycle of pot-calling-kettle-black. Hence I think the best response and take to her racist rants is through this song by Jimmy.

I was glad to be part of a food tasting session with Eastern Restaurant which specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine.

There was a galore of familiar dishes such as 小笼包 or 红油炒手. I must say it was a feast for the eye as well as the taste bud.

Yummy cold dish - 绍兴醉鸡 or "Chicken marinated with Shao Shing wine"

This dish has a lingering taste of the wine which makes it appetizing and gets you craving for more.

Cold tofu with Century Egg- it was a unique blend in taste which I find it interesting and rather delicious after 2nd tasting.

Ying Zi loved it so much she ordered 2nd serving. I find the sauce specially delicious with splashes of diced peanut to enhance the flavour.

Collagen La Mien or 胶原蛋白拉面

This dish is a must-try for those who believes in giving your skin a little treat. Personally I find this dish a little bland for my liking as I prefer food with stronger flavour. Probably it is to let diners enjoy the natural and pure taste of home-styled soup. There is an introductory offer for this dish at S$8.80 instead of usual $12.80.

Fish soup with salted vegetables

Don’t be deceived by this soup with simple name. It was TASTY!! I love, love, love this soup. The soup was thick and rich in taste. One of my favourites!

Wantan with hot chilli oil or 红油抄手

I did not try this dish but from the review from other food bloggers were good. I guess from the look of it, it sure looks yummy!

"Lou Hei" or "捞余生"

As it was still within Chinese New Year period, Eastern Restaurant gave us a pleasant surprise with Lou Hei. Huat ah! As Yong Wei would say “早生贵子”. hehehe…

Noodles with minced meat and mushroom in spicy sauce or "炸酱面"! Another favourite dish!

This is another must-have if you are like me – someone who ADORES spicy and flavourful food. I had tried quite a few 炸酱面 and this has proven to be the best so far. The handmade noodle was smooth and QQ. It goes down smoothly with each bite. However do not wait too long to have this dish as the noodle will lump together when the dish turns cold.

Bao with Custard and Egg Yolk or "流沙包"!! Must must must try!

Love this dish! It has a savoury tinge mixed with sweetness of the bun! Results = heavenly!!! I find this an interesting treat. I had tried custard bun in Hong Kong which was yummy but this 流沙包 is something unique and refreshing. Love, love, love the taste!

2011 just came and reflecting back, 2010 has been great!

Life was filled with wonderful people, experiences and even though there are terrible times like seeing close colleagues being laid off and fights between your loved ones… At least life still goes on…

Only when one stops breathing….

I came to know of a friend’s demise this evening.

I won’t say that I know her well, but enough to have experienced her kindness, cheerful nature and what a wonderful person she was. It is never easy to handle the news of passing of a friend; Be it how close or far apart you both may have been. However, having the privileged to experience her warmth as a person, I still am affected by her demise. I can only pray for the Lord to bless her soul and brings comfort to her family.

Parveen, your sunshine smile and personality will be missed by all who had known you.

Rest in peace.

Changes forces us to do things we don’t like. Change the way we work, think, eat (think diet) and even now in blogosphere. With the new wordpress hosting my old blog, i must admit it is far more user-friendly and fun to blog in this space. Though there are also more features that are so confusing for me.. will take a while before i settle comfortably blogging using wordpress…at least now i really can remember my own blog site. hahaha

R.I.P ninja-i.live.spaces.com (i think).

Aza: Yee Ya, can you make me clothes from newspaper?

me: Sure I can….. But why do you want clothes made from newspaper???

Aza: Cos you are wearing tissue!!! *points to my lovely white, summery dress*

Quad of my Bcapian Life

Finally after 4 years of my life working in a "kerching", I am finally moving on!!!

I must say I woke up feeling exceptionally chirpy, partially I slept well after losing a night’s sleep cos ewe had to tell me horror story about ghost in a plane!

Anywayz, "Resignation therapy" never felt so good!!!! Instant comfort, relief and de-stress factor! wwoooot!

Thinking back, many memories in that dept. Tad bit of sadness cos I realized I had gone through those torturous times with a bunch of great colleagues! Some of cos had left. Huge sigh of relief knowing I no longer have to work with some people I absolutely cannot stand. At least very minimal.

Quote an ex-colleague – "Latte will now mean coffee to me!!!"

Gasps!!! It’s Been A Year!

Goodness! It’s been a year since I last wrote in this dusty, ol’ blog of mine *dust dust cough cough*

Tonnes had happened. Crisis after crisis, piles of work after work and days of losing sleep trying to rush out my school projects.
Here’s a recap, sort of.

People/Things I will miss for sure:

- MICHAEL JACKSON!
no doubt about that. I din’t have a chance to mourn his death properly when I heard the news. Face had makeup on. ;P
I’ll definitely miss his dance and his constant recap of old songs in "latest" concerts.

- Patrick Swayze.. .think "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing".

- Being in my 20s! hahahaha. Nuff said.

- My good ol’ project mates in Curtin who are graduating soon!!! Misya tonnes!

People/Things I Won’t Miss and pray I won’t have nightmares about:

- Lehman integration, Wealth Integration, integrations of any sorts!!!

- People coughing right into my face or not washing hands after visiting Mr Toilet (unfortunately this has not end)

- My 2-day Samsung Omnia II & lousy Nokia Service

New stuff in my life which I tooooootally Luuuuuurrrrve:

- My darling, Kavin (ok peeps, you can put on your winter jacket now)

- my new Macbook!! Quote from Ewey "Buy a rice cooker and get a free condo!" hhahaha.

- My new clothes!! ahahhaa.. including a really really really nice collection of black dresses. Ahahhaa

New collection of mineral makeup from Moxie beauty… I really need to learn not to rub my face too often.

- Getting to see my adorable little niece who look absolutely like my sister when she was little – Cheyenne. *Aza & Kayus, Yee Ah still love u la.*
